Danielle was born and grew up in Africa and has always felt very connected to the land, people, incredible landscapes and natural wildlife.
She studied at the University of the Witwatersrand and qualified as a chartered accountant before travelling to London, spending many years in banking there.
She has been in Singapore for five years with her husband and two young children and works as an Executive Director in Risilience at Standard Chartered.
Her love for Africa is so great that she convinced her family and friends to climb Kilimanjaro with her for her 40th! The roof of Africa, the most breathtakingly beautiful place.

Jason has been a board member of Africa Society since 2018 and is primarily involved in sourcing sponsorships for the society.
Born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa, Jason is a passionate South African. He loves spending time with his family and enjoys the outdoors particularly on his Mountain Bike or on the golf course.
Jason started his career in construction before moving into banking where he spent 15 years at Absa Bank. He now fulfils the role of Associate Director at IP Investment Management, a private equity real estate fund manager, with a focus on raising capital for global projects across alternate real estate sectors in developed markets.
Jason has a Bachelor of Science in Building from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Jason was a member of the Kyiv Lions Club and is also an active board member of the South African Chamber of Commerce Singapore.

Nicky Hayes grew up in South Africa and relocated to Asia in 2004 with her husband
Brett. Nicky and family have lived in Bangkok and Shanghai before relocating to
Singapore in 2015. Nicky and Brett have two boys, Merrick aged 14 and Benjamin
11, who are both keen swimmers and rugby players.
She worked in the Banking Industry as a Business Analyst prior to moving and
starting their journey in Asia. She currently works in a Sales and Marketing role in the
Wine Industry in Singapore, promoting South African wine.
In her spare time, Nicky enjoys a round of golf, yoga and photography. She is excited to be involved in the committee and looking forward to a year of special events.

Alison Bertholon, Treasurer
Alison was Born in the UK and grew up in Cameroon. She graduated from ISC business school in Paris with a Master degree in Finance.
Passionate with travelling, meeting new people and learning about other cultures, Alison’s professional experience has always integrated these dimensions. Being able to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds has enriched her work life in a tremendous way. Her career spans over 20 years spent in various finance leadership roles with international companies in different industries, including Banking, IT, Telecoms, Commodities and Transportation.
After several years in France, UK and Switzerland, Alison has now been living in Singapore for 8 years with her husband Frederic and their twins Alexandre and Athena (13). They are all fully enjoying the travel opportunities in the region and the cultural diversity experience.
Alison has been with the Society for over 6 years and is holding the position of Treasurer.
Tiphaine has been a board member of Africa Society since 2019, and is primarily involved in venue booking and social media.
Born in France with Cameroonese parents, she grew up and emerged in the African culture. She enjoys water sports but also baking, running, traveling or organizing gatherings with friends and family.
Tiphaine started her career in France, then spent 8 years in Dubai and moved last year in Singapore. She has experience in Business Controlling in the advertising, technology and energy industries. She is now working at ENGIE, a global leader in the fight of global warming to help accelerate the zero carbon transition and who connected last year up to 4 million people to electricity grids in Africa.
Tiphaine Ibot-Ibot Olivan
Raelene Singh Gabrielli was born and raised in South Africa, where she studied law and worked as an attorney before relocating to Switzerland in 2000.
She has spent the past 20 years in financial services and is currently the Center Head for a leading global financial services provider and bank-owned Trust Company in Singapore. After 13 years in Switzerland, she relocated to Singapore in 2013 together with her husband.
Raelene is passionate about connecting with fellow Africans and lovers of Africa and giving back, be it in the communities in which we live or those which we may love, near or far. To paraphrase the late great Mr. Nelson Mandela, we can each start changing our world for the better daily, no matter how small the action.
Raelene Singh Gabrielli
Over 16 years' experience in commercial, marketing and institution relations roles in Mozambique's energy gas vale chain including upstream, gas distribution and gas-to-power generation.
Key positions include the roles of Deputy GM of Mozambique LNG1, ENH Marketing Representative Coral FLNG, and Senior Commercial Manager responsible for marketing and transporting Pande & Temane natural gas, the first gas export project in Mozambique, that successfully raised R860 Million for ENH to exercise its share option in the 865km cross boarder gas pipeline between Mozambique and South Africa, and successfully negotiating the first gas to power purchases agreements on behalf of Mozambique’s NOC.
Born and bred in Mozambique, he graduated from University of Cape Town, South Africa with Business Science Hons and started a long-distance MBA program with University of South Africa (UNISA).
